Nike celebrated the occassion with a ballroom-themed event in New York. In addition to displays of the ten shoes, the event included five models wearing ballroom style gowns, which made use of logos and colors from NBA teams. As well,there were performances by Kelala and Kehlani.

The gowns were designed by artists Esmaa Mohamoud and Qendrim Hoti, who used the concept of basketball themed ballgowns for an exhibit titled “One of the Boys,” presented at AGO in Toronto in July of 2017.
